Industry leading advantages of Mean Green Electric Mowers

20 Degree Slope Rating

Yes, you read that right - Mean Green mowers with 14kWh+ battery systems are stable on side slopes up to 20 degrees, thanks to a patented low battery placement resulting in an ultra low centre of gravity. The patented battery placement — just 20cm from the ground — ensures confident slope mowing on New Zealand hillsides, berms, and roadside verges where traditional ride on, out front or zero turn mowers can feel unstable or unsafe. This truly enables Mean Green Mowers to out perform out front 4WD mowers with higher productivity, safety and performance.

Impulse Drive System (IDS™)

Built tough for NZ contractors and councils, the Impulse Drive System (IDS™) is significantly stronger than drive systems found on all other electric zero turn mowers. IDS™ uses planetary gear drives found in heavy duty construction equipment. Made in the USA with cast iron housings and steel cut gears, these drives can handle over 4.5 tonnes of force per mower! The IDS™ is fan-cooled, software controlled, and built for full season, all day mowing — even in New Zealand’s tough conditions, resulting in a long, productive machine life.

Aircraft Grade Aluminium Deck & Chassis

Like many heavy duty utes or trucks used across the world, Mean Green electric mowers feature a tough aircraft grade aluminium chassis and deck. This patented construction is around 45% lighter than steel, improving power-to-weight efficiency and giving Mean Green the best battery runtime in its class. For operators in NZ needing full days on the mower, this gives the peace of mind of a true 7+ hour run time for all day use.

Blade Performance Monitoring System

Mean Green’s patented blade monitoring system displays real time blade speed and motor performance to help the operator maintain peak cut quality and battery run time. Unlike traditional petrol mowers, or other electric mower brands - Mean Green mowers deliver constant blade speed, even under load — ensuring clean, consistent results on thick kiwi grasses including Kikuyu.

SmartDeck™ Rapid Electric Deck Lift

Speed through obstacles and kerbsides with SmartDeck™ — Mean Green’s rapid electric lift deck system. With the push of a button or a tap of the foot pedal, operators can instantly raise the deck to avoid damage from tree roots and other obstacles. Perfect for contractors mowing in parks, schools, or commercial sites across New Zealand where curbing and changes in elevation are frequent.

Vortex Cutting Decks

Mean Green’s patented Vortex deck system is available in both traditional side discharge or an innovative rear mulching discharge — the only electric mower in NZ offering this unique design. The mulching rear discharge deck increases productivity and allows for cleaner mowing in public areas, carparks, and around gardens, where side discharge can create mess or safety hazards. The extremely high blade speed, coupled with mulching blades and a unique baffle system, gives the perfect balance of an exceptional cut quality plus efficient clippings discharge and ultimately long battery run time.

You’re looking at up to eight hours of runtime — 30 acres a day with this size deck. That’s just huge for a battery-powered machine.”

Andrew Tulloch | Commercial Contractor
Running full days on a single overnight charge, the EVO’s 74” deck and 8+ hour runtime makes it a serious commercial contender — without the fuel bill.
